MANILA SOLON SEEKS PROBED TO ALLEGED CORRUPTION IN BI

MANILA PHILIPPINES – Manila 6th District Representative Bienvenido Abante Jr. filed a resolution to investigate the Bureau of Immigration or BI in relation to the influx of more than one thousand
Chinese students currently studying in Cagayan Valley where there are three edca sites.

Abante filed a house resolution number 1703, the BI will be investigated in the chamber in relation to the allegations of corruption.

In his privilage speech yesterday, he was concerned about the unexpected increase in the number of Chinese nationals who chose to study in Cagayan.

He insisted that this is not only a threat to our educational system and national security, but also to the integrity and honesty of government agencies.

The three EDCA sites mentioned are where US soldiers have access, including the Cagayan North International Airport in Lal-lo and the Camilo Osias Naval Station in Santa Ana, both in Cagayan; and Camp Melchor dela Cruz in Gamu, Isabela.

It is suspicious and anomalous “that these foreigners obtained Filipino birth certificates, driver’s licenses, UMID cards, passports and even accreditation and auxiliary membership in the armed services, particularly the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG)”.

The matter should also be taken seriously because it is not only the educational system, the security of the country that is being discussed but also the integrity of the government agency and the alleged corruption in BI should be stopped.
