Batangas City – Batangas residents are encouraged to report illegal foreigners in their communities, following the arrest of a Chinese national working illegally in a quarry in Taysan Town, Batangas.
Immigration Commissioner Norman Tansingco urges Batangas residents to be vigilant and report suspicious activities involving individual foreigners. This request follows the arrest of a Chinese national working illegally in a quarry in Taysan Town last month.
In May, BI operatives arrested seven Chinese nationals working at a quarry site in Taysan, Batangas.
Tansingco released this statement ahead of the upcoming fourth leg of BI’s service caravan, scheduled for June 7 in Gulod Labac, Batangas City.
The BI stated that the caravan will provide faster processing for various services, including tourist visa extensions, exit clearances, dual citizenship applications, and other important transactions.
The arrests resulted from intelligence reports indicating that some Chinese nationals were illegally working in mining operations in the province.
Additionally, BI discovered six other Chinese nationals working in the quarry without proper operational documents.
