Manila Philippines — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has commended the United Nations (UN) Security Council’s adoption of the resolution calling for a ceasefire and the release of hostages in Gaza.
According to the DFA, the resolution reaffirms the desire of the international community to maintain peace and stability in the region.
“The Philippines commends the collaborative efforts of Member States of the UN Security Council in crafting Resolution S/RES/2735, which underscores the urgent need to address the escalating crisis in Gaza. The resolution reaffirms the international community’s commitment to upholding peace and stability in the region,” according to a DFA statement.

The Philippines once again reiterates their call for an immediate ceasefire and the immediate release of the captives of Hamas group.
The resolution also includes unhampering the humanitarian aid for people who remain in Gaza.
It is said that the implementation of the resolution will help to alleviate the suffering of innocent civilians who are involved in the conflict between Palestine and Israel for over a year of war.
“The prompt implementation of the measures is imperative to alleviate the suffering of innocent civilians caught in the crossfire,” the DFA said.
The DFA said the Philippines will continue to stand up for maintaining stability, security and peace in the region.
The Hamas Group began attacking Israel in October last year, and Israel take their attack back then.
More than 37,400 Palestinians have been killed since Israel attacked Gaza, while more than 1,000 Israelis have been killed.
