Melbourne, Australia – Filipina tennis star Alex Eala failed to advance in the first round of the Australian Open Qualifying Round after losing to Croatia’s Jana Fett, 7-5, 6-2, at Melbourne Park, Australia, yesterday.
Although Eala started strong in the first set, securing a 2-0 lead, the #134 Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) player from Croatia gradually took control of the match.
The battle reached 5-all, but Fett prevailed.
In the second set, Fett’s momentum soared as she quickly took a 4-0 lead.
Although the #147 WTA Filipina fought back with two points, Fett finished the match with a 6-2 score, advancing to the next round.
