VP SARA DUTERTE RETURNS TO PH HOURS AFTER FATHER’S ARREST

Pasay City, Philippines — Vice President Sara Duterte is back in the Philippines, just hours after the arrest of her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, on Tuesday.

The National Bureau of Investigation confirmed that the Vice President arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport at around 3pm from HongKong.

Before she went home, the younger Duterte attended a gathering event of Overseas Filipino workers in HongKong, together with her father.

The former president returned to the Philippines earlier today, and was immediately arrested when he landed in NAIA following a warrant from the International Criminal Court over human rights violation under his 2016 war on drugs campaign.

Following her arrival, the younger Duterte has not yet released any official statement regarding the matter, as of the last reports.

Her office said that the Vice President will address the situation at the appropriate time.

Amid her father’s arrest, the younger Duterte is also battling an impeachment trial against her.
