CAR-FREE SUNDAY IN MARIKINA TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED

Marikina City, Philippines — Marikina City Government has announced the temporary suspension of its Car-Free Sunday program starting May 3, 2026.

According to the local government, the move is intended to give way to an ongoing project by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) along Gil Fernando Avenue and Aquilina Street.

The LGU explained that the suspension aims to ensure public safety and prevent inconvenience caused by the current construction activities in the area.

The city government also urged the public to stay tuned for an official announcement regarding the resumption of the Car-Free Sunday program.
