Manila, Philippines — All government officials and employees are now strictly prohibited from engaging in any form of gambling whether physical or online regardless of time or location.
The policy covers personnel from Local Government Units (LGUs), autonomous regional governments, state and local universities, and government-owned or controlled corporations (GOCCs).
This comes after the Civil Service Commission (CSC) issued a new regulation under Resolution No. 2600111.
According to the CSC, the ban includes entering or staying in casinos and other gambling establishments.
It also covers participation in online gambling activities such as online casinos, e-bingo, e-sabong, and other similar platforms.
Organizing or promoting any form of gambling is likewise prohibited.
The policy aims to strengthen integrity in public service, improve efficiency, and further enhance public trust in government institutions.
Meanwhile, the resolution takes effect today and will be fully enforceable 15 days after its publication.—Grachella Corazon, Eurotv News
