On September 13, a passenger ship capsized along the waters of Indonesia.
According to reports, the ship named Virgo Transport 8 was carrying 243 people.
It was travelling East Java City through Banjarmasin City amid bad weather conditions when the incident happened.
And just more than one week after, the death toll from the passenger ferry has risen to 28, according to Indonesia’s National Search and Rescue Agency.
Rescuers recovered 16 bodies from inside the vessel over the past three days, including nine on Wednesday.
Two other bodies were also found washed ashore.
Authorities said 108 people have survived, while 107 remain missing.
On the other hand, search and rescue operations have been extended until September 27.
