Local broadcast journalist Adrian “Golden Boy” Nacion Loterte was killed after being shot inside his bakery in San Roque, Daraga, Albay, on October 12.
According to the investigation by the Albay Police Provincial Office, Loterte was shot by the assailant around 4:00 PM while inside his bakery. He was immediately rushed to the hospital but declared dead at 5:00 PM.
The suspects escaped on a black motorcycle.
The police have launched a manhunt operation to identify the suspects. Authorities are still determining the motive behind the shooting.
The Presidential Task Force on Media Security has also urged law enforcement agencies to conduct a swift, thorough, and impartial investigation to establish the circumstances and motive behind the attack and to hold those responsible accountable.
The Task Force also urges anyone with credible information to report it to the authorities. The PTFOMS added Violence against members of the media is unacceptable.
