Manila, Philippines – The Malacañang has actively mobilized its full disaster response machinery to secure communities ahead of the entry of Super Typhoon Bavi into the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
During a Palace press conference held Monday, July 6, 2026, Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Undersecretary Claire Castro assured the public that all frontline agencies are operating under a single, unified command to achieve a zero-casualty target.
“So ito po ay whole government approach lahat po ng ahensya na involved ay kailangan pong kumilos, ‘yan po ang utos ng Pangulo,” Castro assured.
Under the whole-of-government approach, Castro specifically mentioned agencies involved in preparedness and response include the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), Regional Disaster Response Clusters, and other concerned agencies.
Following intensive pre-disaster risk assessment scenario meetings, Undersecretary Castro also confirmed that the following protocols are being strictly implemented on the ground such as: mandatory preemptive evacuations, logistical supply prepositioning, clearing alternate transit routes, securing agricultural livelihoods, and public health risk shields.
However, the Palace urged the general public to disregard any complacency regarding Bavi’s “no-landfall” forecast.
