MANILA — Senate President Pro Tempore Jinggoy Estrada has given law enforcement agencies a two-week deadline to arrest suspended Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo, warning that their 2025 budgets could be “affected” if they fail.
Estrada noted that the Senate issued the arrest order for Guo on July 11, but she remains at large.
“Two weeks na hindi pa mahanap. Wala ba kayong lead?” Estrada said during the Senate’s investigation into illegal POGOs.
“If you cannot arrest her within a month, baka maapektuhan ang budget ninyo… We cannot just keep on waiting here. You better get your acts together,” he cautioned.
Estrada questioned why authorities were struggling to apprehend such a high-profile individual.
“Ito kilalang-kilala pa hindi nyo mahuli… Baka mahia mga intelligence niyo kapag ganon,” he remarked.
The Senate issued a warrant for Guo’s arrest after she failed to attend two hearings. She was accused of being linked to a raided illegal POGO in her municipality, which she denied.
The Bureau of Immigration reported that, based on its monitoring, Guo, also known as “Guo Hua Ping,” was still in the country.
