FIL-AM ALEAH FINNEGAN TOPS 2025 US NCAA GYMNASTICS WEEK 1

United States – Filipino-American gymnast Aleah Finnegan kicked off her senior year in style, emerging as the top all-around performer after Week 1 of the 2025 US National Collegiate Athletic Association or NCAA gymnastics season.

Competing for the defending champion Louisiana State University (LSU) Tigers, Finnegan dazzled in the season opener, tallying a career-high all-around score of 39.725.

Her electric routines on the floor, beam, and vault powered LSU to a dominant win over Iowa State, keeping the Tigers roaring in their quest to defend their NCAA crown.

She edged out Olympic gold medalist Jade Carey from Oregon State and Oklahoma’s Faith Torrez, who are tied for second at 39.625.

Her record-breaking all-around score not only secured her the No. 1 spot but also set a new LSU opening-night record, earning her Southeastern Conference (SEC) Gymnast of the Week honors for her consistency and brilliance under pressure.

Likewise, the Tigers will hit the road for the Sprouts Farmers Market Collegiate Quad Meet on Saturday, January 11, at the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City. They will continue their winning streak and defend the No. 1 spot.

The season will take 15 weeks long, with the regular season lasting 11 weeks.
